Cueing to Music

Last week some of the First year Stage Management Students began their Cueing to Music classes. For some, this was the first time they had ever used a prompt desk. See below for pictures of group B getting stuck into cueing “The Barber of Seville.”

1st Year Props Acquisition Project

Last week some of the First year Stage Management students completed their first major independent project. Each first year Stage Management student is assigned a play, and then they have to go about identifying all the props that would be required for that play, and to source a selection of props covering all areas of props acquisition. These areas include; In-House Stock, Buying, Hiring, Stage Management Making, and Borrowing.

Here are some images of what they presented:

Chloë even marked out how big some of her furniture would be!

All of the 1st year students made at least one props as well as researching hires and putting together summary information about their assigned play.

Natasha Holdaway presents Night Season by Rebecca Lenkiewicz

Mia took her earlier Photoshop work and expanded upon it to create a full newspaper prop from the period in which her play is set, and it came out very nicely.

Elliott made his bottle label from scratch and even spent time perfecting the colour of the whiskey. (It’s not real, we checked.)

Very nice work from all, once again!
